160 Years From Freedom to Liberty: Not Far Enough
Thursday, June 19th - Saturday, June 21st, 2025
Fuquay Varina Arts Center
Join us for a powerful night of reflection, artistry, and dialogue as M.A.Nifest (Music, Art, Networking) presents "Freedom to What?", an original play exploring the unfinished journey from 1865 to 2025. Through vivid performances and storytelling, this play confronts the critical question: what does freedom truly mean today?
Set against the backdrop of Juneteenth, this production weaves history with modern narratives, asking the audience to consider how far we have really come—and how far we still must go. From emancipation to modern struggles for justice and equality, "Freedom to What?" challenges us to envision a future beyond mere survival toward true liberation.
